SOME HISTORY:
Cloudburst has used biodiesel in our truck fleet since 2005, long before any other local hauler. Since March 2009, the City has required all commercial haulers to use of B20 in commercial as well as residential trucks. This is another instance of Cloudburst leading by example.

In 2005, we helped establish the Oregon Biodiesel Workshop (OBW) and later worked with Bootstrap Biodiesel LLC. Cloudburst provided pickup of waste cooking oil for the experimental production of biodiesel.

We at Cloudburst have always been struck by the irony of providing an environmental service (recycling) using trucks that pollute the atmosphere. Biodiesel has much lower levels of most air emissions than petroleum diesel. We love the idea of collecting a waste product (cooking oil) from our customers, and using that waste to produce the fuel that powers the vehicles to provide that service. And at the same time reducing air emissions! Perfect! We continue to work toward the goal of actually fueling our own trucks.
